(Project in Development)
Vision
No
young person under 26 years will be out of work or training in
our community.
Mission
To
provide youth with the tools and experiences to succeed in
social
and
economic life.
The tragic war and recent conflict has left an
indelible stain on the relations between Albanian and other
nationalities in Kosovo. Although they are living in close
proximity, the distance between the two communities is a huge.
The worst situation is unemployment, which stems in part from
the fact that there are insufficient schools and that uneducated
persons have inadequate skills to enter the market.

Youth Co-Op is aimed to support
the social dialogue
among ethnicities in Kosovo and economic stability of young
persons through access to information, counseling, training
workshops, and job placement services
for the benefit of
unemployed and others. It
is carefully designed to give the unemployed and young persons
sufficient information, training and skills so that they can get
a job and generate income. Program is reserved for youth from 16
26 years old, according to their capabilities and respective
field of interest.
Over thousands registered,
interviewed, and pre-screened young jobseekers will have an
opportunity to try out
their skills with a local employer. Sometimes, if all goes well,
employee may be placed at that location in a permanent job.
Many employers, Kosovo
businesses, large and small, will benefit from detailed labor
market statistics that project well researched estimates of
available workers by industry and geographic market. The
businesses get an employee that is ready, willing and able to
perform the required job.
Best of all, as a
non-profit organization serving Kosovo youth, there is never a
charge to employers or jobseekers for employment or counseling
services we offer!

The proposed project directly
provides support to building capacity with involvement of
minorities; improving the quality of services and increasing
employment; cooperation and co-ordination with Kosovo Regional
Employment Centres, businesses and organizations; and working
toward EU standards and membership in EURODESK network (European
Commission Program).
Kofi Annan, the UN
Secretary-General stated:
We must develop strategies that give young people everywhere a
real chance to find decent and productive work that will allow
them to become independent and responsible global citizens.
