Social Responsibility
The generosity of others is at the core of the YMCA's existence as a nonprofit for more than 150 years worldwide. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.
Volunteerism & Giving
Take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood. With a focus on youth development, social inclusion and social responsibility Y volunteers give men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
Volunteers of the YMCA:
- Lead our Boards of Directors and committees
- Raise funds to ensure the YMCA is accessible to all members of the community
- Support children and youth from all over Kosovo especially form the underprivileged communities
- Motivate and support youth in building the character strengths, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, smart life choices, and the pursuit of higher education and goals
- Advocate for the Y's efforts to influence policies and initiatives that positively impact societal issues of importance to the nation, and your community
- Participate in opportunities to give back and support neighbors

Advocacy and Mass media
Address the nation's most pressing social issues, with a nonprofit that has the long-standing track record and on-the-ground presence to not just promise, but deliver, lasting personal and social change.
With a focus on youth development, the YMCA collaborates with national and community-based leaders and policymakers to increase the resources and support that empower individuals, families and communities to learn, grow and thrive.
As an advocate of the YMCA, you can help:
- To increase the awareness of the of the essential social rights and duties among the communities
- Influence policies and initiatives that help youth develop healthy behaviors, values and life skills
- Build trust and understanding among community groups and decision makers
- Positively impact societal issues of importance to the nation and your community
Since 2009, YMCA Kosovo has established a Youth Media club which is actively involved in producing infomercials, Public Announcements, documentaries and TV shows promoting youth development, social rights and duties, and healthy lifestyle.
